BECOME A MEMBER
Why purchase a family membership to help support the work of the Marblehead Lighthouse Historical Society?
Many of the improvements and amenities you see around the park were funded by the Marblehead Lighthouse Historical Society, working in cooperation with the State of Ohio and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. Some of our larger projects have been the construction of the Lifesaving Station replica, funding the restoration of the lifesaving boat, construction of the restrooms, replacement of the fencing around the Keeper's House, development of the quarry exhibit, and creating the new video for the Carriage House (see the video above) as well as some smaller projects, such as the decoration of the lighthouse for the holidays, maintaining the flower gardens in the park and providing some of the programming in the park.
How did we pay for these improvements? Not with tax dollars, but through revenue generated by memberships, ticket sales, donations, brick sales, and gift shop sales. All of the revenue generated is spent for the betterment of the park or to improve the visitors’ experiences.

With a family membership, you will receive 2 tower tickets for the 2025 season, a membership sticker to show your lighthouse pride, our newsletter, and you will be placed on an email list to received information about our meetings and activities. Your $25 will help us continue our work.
BECOME A VOLUNTEER
The majority of the people you see working in the park are Marblehead Lighthouse Historical Society volunteers. We are a non-profit, all volunteer organization. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources has a Marblehead Lighthouse State Park staff of five to six. The rest of the people selling tickets, working in the gift shop, talking with you in the Lifesaving Station, taking care of brick orders and their installation, caring for the flowers, managing social media, and many other tasks. Some of our volunteer positions only ask for a commitment of a couple hours 4 or 5 times a year, while others take 4 hours every two weeks in the summer, while others require more time.

Are you a summer resident or a frequent visitor? If you have 4 hours twice a month in the summer, we would love for you to be one of our regular volunteers and share your love of the lighthouse with others. We have volunteers driving in from Columbus, Tiffin, Bellevue, Indiana, Fremont...You don't have to be a local resident.

Do you have a special talent? Contact us so we can talk with your about how you can use your talents to help our group and the lighthouse.
If you would like to learn more about being a Marblehead Lighthouse Historical Society volunteer, please click the button below to send us an email. We will work with you to match your interest, talents and time to a volunteer position. We would love for you to join us.
